As we start 2018, we're delighted to announce a new partnership with a lead stake-holder on the long-awaited Hinkley C project.
Hinkley Point C is the largest infrastructure project currently taking place in Europe. Located in Somerset, we've noticed a positive impact on the region in terms of economic boost; there has however been a significant local draw on resources, making the staffing of other regional schemes much more challenging. Upon completion, HPC will have the capacity to produce power for at least 5 million UK homes, providing a massive 7% of the country’s energy needs for the next 60 years. This is a step forward for the UK’s ambitions to move towards a low-carbon future.
The Hinkley Point C will employ a huge 25,000 workers across its construction lifespan (it’s predicted that it will take around 10 years to complete), with 5,600 construction professionals on site at the project's peak. The HInkley Point project is a great platform for career development; with guaranteed longevity of the scheme there is a real opportunity to develop your skills and career over time.
We are currently looking to make two appointments for our partner client:
First: Project Manager. With a background in managing building schemes you will play a lead role; managing stakeholders and coordinating with the client, their representatives, the design team overssing delivery on site - through your managerment team.
Second: Quantity Surveyor. As a QS / SQS you will be responsible for managing various stakeholder relationships, valuations, variations, CVR's, and liaising with the client's team, your own supply chain, and the management team.
If you have vacancies on the project, or if you're looking for career opportunities on the scheme, contact Thatcher Associates, or register through our in-house job board www.HinkleyConstructionJobs.co.uk
