Expert Hotel and Resort Engineering Appointments

It was over ten years ago that John Thatcher placed his first Chief Engineer at a large resort on a Caribbean island. We developed a good reputation with the same client and grew from there. For the first few years this service was very Caribbean-centric, however, over time this developed and we have now completed assignments in numerous locations around the globe: North and South America / the Caribbean / Asia and the Pacific Ocean / Europe / Middle East / Africa.

We have build a good understanding of Hotel and Resort Engineering from a managerial perspective and hence we are able to interview and assess candidate experience, strengths and weaknesses prior to presenting a shortlist. Typically, assignments fall into the following three types of role:

  • Director of Engineering: Leading the engineering function across a company, region or cluster of hotels or resorts.
  • Chief Engineer: Usually reporting to the DOE, leading the engineering function at an individual hotel or resort.
  • Assistant Chief Engineer: A slightly more junior role often undertaken by ambitious engineers who are looking to take on more responsibility and develop their career while supporting a Chief Engineer.

We have experience completing assignments in remote / island locations, towers, large estates, and often we have to take into account unique criteria, such as language, or the need for specialist plant and equipment knowledge when conducting searches.
