Development Manager

Thatcher Associates have partnered with a highly regarded developer to recruit an experienced Development Manager in Bath. This is a newly opened opportunity to work for a respected residential developer working on a variety of different schemes.

What will I do?

As the Development Manager you will support the technical and commercial teams by overseeing land feasibility, social housing requirements and planning legislation.

You will join a development team, acting as the No 2 to the Development Director and manage site acquisition and feasibility studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtaining approvals and S106 Agreements as necessary to agreed programmes
  • Coordinate all the pre-development meetings which involve sales, planning and design departments
  • The schemes viability by ensuring the design, specifications and technical issues are controlled and managed accordingly
  • Liaise with external consultants and sub-contractors
  • Writing and submitting the funding pack for projects
  • Coordinate the affordable housing provision to be provided in any mixed tenure scheme

What will I need?

  • Degree or equivalent in Town Planning / Construction discipline (MRICS, MRTPI, MCIOB or similar)
  • Previous experience as a Development Manager or Land Manager whilst working for a house builder / developer
  • Project management experience in a consultancy or client side capacity successfully delivering housing schemes
  • Demonstrable track record of working from inception through to construction stage
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of external consultants
  • Full UK driving licence
