Thatcher Associates have partnered with a highly regarded developer to recruit an experienced Land Buyer / Manager in Bristol. This is a newly opened opportunity to work for a respected residential developer working on a variety of schemes. 

What are the responsibilities?

As the Land Buyer / Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, appraising and acquiring land pockets for this developer to build upon (whilst ensuring a sustainable land bank). A sound local knowledge, network and reputation would fare well within this role. Working closely with the Planning Team in order to ensure maximum contribution is achieved from all land purchases.

What will I be doing?
  • Acquire and secure development opportunities
  • Immediate land only
  • Self-sufficient role with the ability to source land opportunities and instruct the development team regarding legals, planning and development and commercial constraints of any proposal
  • Deliver targets to acquire new sites
  • Identify land opportunities on and off market
  • Negotiate legal agreements
  • Procure technical, legal and dev info to prepare offers
  • Prepare and submit Land Approval Packs and obtain authority to acquire sites
  • BD to promote the company 
  • Manage offer process and provide support to LD
What do I need?
  • Previous experience buying land in South West - ideally Land Manager background
  • Able to understand and interpret complex legal documentation
  • Highly numerate with ability to undertake residual valuations for land appraisals, undertake comparable sales valuations and provide sensitive analysis 
  • Good understanding of planning and developmenty history
