Are you a commercially astute Land Manager with good connections in the Bristol area? Or perhaps you are currently a Land Buyer looking to take the next step up with a bespoke, start up developer?  

My client, an independent and sustainable developer, is seeking an experienced Land Manager or perhaps someone on the cusp of wanting a management opportunity. They need someone with a strong track record in land identification, appraisal and acquisition work whilst working collaboratively with a team.

About:

As the Land Manager, you will report and work closely with the Land Director and be responsible for establishing new development opportunities whilst ensuring the most cost effective contract is agreed on land purchases.  Your role will be key in the progression of the business and you will take the lead on directing viability and feasibility reports for various development opportunities. Upon joining you will seek to find developments.

What you’ll need:

Not only will you need to be approachable, friendly and have a good network in the region, you will be an integral part to the team environment and culture. This role will suit someone who not only wants to buy land successfully but also to be part of a supportive and communicative team.

Key experience:
  • Strong negotiation skills which equate to successful budgeting and financial targets;
  • Confident when liaising with key stakeholders/decision makers;
  • Sound technical and commercial background;
  • Confident in working towards targets and budgets;
  • Deliver on land targets;
  • Reactive to the housing market and prices;
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written;
  • Previous experience in the Property and Construction industry as Land Manager, Land Buyer or Development Manager.

It’s expected you will be very experienced in this field and have a strong contact base in the surrounding area. You will have need to have necessary past experience working with a residential developer and / or housing association and be able to demonstrate good leadership qualities with a professional management style. 

Successful candidates will need to hold a relevant professional degree either being RICS or RTPI qualified, or substantial experience.
