Are you a talented Planning Consultant seeking to join a leading town planning consultancy in the Hampshire area?

This town planning consultancy has an excellent reputation – both as a consultancy and as an employer. They are considered one of the UK’s leading consultancies and their reputation precedes them in terms of professional integrity and staff development. Due to continued growth as a business and a recent increase in work, my client seeks to appoint an experienced Planning Consultant to complement the close-knit team. 

About the role:
Since you will be tasked with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals, it is expected that you will have first-hand experience dealing with them. Experience of residential and/or commercial planning projects is desirable for this position.

About you:
Ideal applicants will have a demonstrable track record of managing a range of planning applications and appeals, particularly those pertaining to residential, mixed-use, sport, commercial and educational projects. You may have processed and assessed medium and large scale planning applications in a Planning Officer capacity, or prepared and submitted proposals on behalf of a client as a Planning Consultant. A good understanding of the English Planning System, extending to national and local planning frameworks is essential for this position and it is expected that you will be able to advise clients and stakeholders on a range of planning matters. 

Experience working in the capacity of a Planner, Consultant or Policy Planner, is necessary for this post, and it is anticipated that you will have a minimum of 3-5 years' professional experience. Either private or public sector experience would be appropriate for this post, and those making the transition into the private sector can be assured that the change will be comfortable and straightforward. Full membership of the RTPI would be a clear advantage for this post, but those expecting to attain MRTPI status this year are also encouraged to apply.

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic. This role will be suited to someone who is wanting to strengthen their career.
  • Full UK driving licence.
