Design Manager Wanted! - Birmingham - Competitive package.

Thatcher Associates are working exclusively with with one of the largest national contractors in the UK. On offer is the opportunity to be involved in high profile schemes through out the Birmingham region working on a diverse selection of schemes in a variety numerous sectors including health-care, education, commercial, leisure and residential to name a few.

Main Responsibilities
  • Able to provide leadership to the design process on allocated projects;
  • Manage the interface between ourselves and our external consultants;
  • Seek to utilize the innovation strategies available into projects where possible;
  • Utilize the D&B Management Systems as a tool to manage the design process;
  • Keep abreast of current technical issues and incorporate into schemes as relevant;
  • Treat Client relationships as our most valuable assets;
  • Learn from peers and managers to develop skills;
  • Manage the design process using his/her commercial contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise;
  • You will be expected to support, understand clients the requirements and his/her obligations in the development of a building design;
  • Encouraging and inspiring design consultants to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources and talents in a cost effect way;
  • Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice where appropriate;
  • Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.

Essential
  • BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering, Building
  • Management
  • HNC/HND in Building Studies
  • Degree in Construction Management or Architecture
