Thatcher Associates have been assigned to appoint a well-connected and experienced Senior Land Manager / Land Director to join an established developer in Devon. You will be the key decision maker along with the Managing Director. 

This dynamic opportunity will suit you if you are looking to work with a developer, who produce quality housing developments and offer industry-leading benefits and bonus schemes. Your role as Land Director will play an important part of the business which will require your expertise in land acquisition to source and negotiate land opportunities for current developments and future opportunities offer support to the current land team to ensure complex land opportunities are secured. 

You will be responsible for the management and coordination of the current land team, land acquisition strategy through the identification, acquisition, monitoring, and delivery of sustainable developments whilst negotiating contracts to achieve favourable conditions. It’s expected you would have held a senior level role whilst working for a residential developer in the South West. It’s imperative you have a strong network of contacts in the South West, which is demonstrable in your CV and are reactive to market changes.

If you are able to demonstrate that you are able to bring on-board fruitful contacts for the business, detailed knowledge and understanding of land acquisition and legislation and a strong track record of leading a land department then you are strongly encouraged to apply. 

To summarise the experience and qualifications needed:
  • Sound technical knowledge and associated legal agreements
  • Previous experience as a Senior Land Manager/Director for a developer in the South West
  • Detailed knowledge of land acquisition process and key contacts
  • Understanding of the UK Planning system
  • Ability to deliver strategic land for future growth
  • Good financial management and commercial experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
