Exclusive Construction Manager Opportunity based in Jamaica working for a very well established Caribbean Hospitality & Real Estate Developer. Due to sustained growth and an extensive order book for 2019 the company are looking to strengthen the team with a Construction Manager looking for a long-term opportunity in the Caribbean region. This position would suit an individual with some years overseas experience or someone looking to establish a career as an ex-pat.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Direct and oversee contractors works in accordance with the brief
  • Responsible for overall direction of the assigned project reporting into Regional Manager
  • Administrative duties, recording and documenting as required reporting to Senior Project Manager and/or Regional Manager
  • Responsible for projects ranging from hotels/resorts to high-end refurbishments as well as some real estate and retail projects
  • Ability to plan, implement and hand over multiple projects in order to accomplish goals within constraints of time, cost, and quality standards.
  • The ability to efficiently and competently resolve conflicting problems that may arise
 
Key skills and abilities:
  • Excellent administrative skills, proficient in reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills
  • Ability to apply innovative and new approaches to training and development programs
  • Ability to work on one’s own with minimal supervision to achieve shared goals
  • Must be proficient with computers (not an expert - intermediate level required
 
Essential criteria:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant sector
  • Minimum 5 years' Management level experience
  • Good to intermediate level of computer literacy
  • Experience working on projects up to US$50m
  • Experience leading projects upwards of US$10m in value
  • Willing to relocate and travel

Sort after criteria:
  • Prior hospitality construction experience
  • Experience leading projects upwards of US$20m in value
  • Single status may be advantageous due to travel commitments

Salary and Package information:
  • Salary; All-in US$100,000 (gross salary - responsible for your own housing)
